Right Honorable Gordon Brown Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

10 Downing Street, London, SW1A 2AA, United Kingdom

Right Honourable Gordon Brown Prime Minister of the United Kingdom,

we, the Association of Wisdom and Traditions of Iran, are an organisation in opposition to the Islamic Regime in Iran. We are fighting against global Islamic terrorism, and are striving to establish a democracy within Iran.

The struggle of the Iranian people on home soil and those who have been expatriated is alive, and will continue until the brutal regime in Iran is vanquished.

We understand Britain has announced that they will support the Iranian people but not the dictatorial regime in Iran, which gave those Iranians actively involved in the opposition to the regime positive energy to continue in their fight. We as Iranians are grateful for the efforts that the Right Honourable Gordon Brown has done with regards to this matter.

We believe that it is because of the Prime Ministers efforts that the relationship between the Iranian people and the people of the United Kingdom is good despite the memories of the past.

We think that it is important to keep the good relationship between our two nations as long as we keep this sensitive issue at bay.

May I draw the Prime Ministers attention to the Guardian report from the 2nd of February 2010 about the alleged treatment that refugees have had to endure from the Boarder Agency in Cardiff. We believe that these Iranian people, in their efforts to flee the death squad from the Islamic Republic of Iran, have come to the United Kingdom seeking safety and refuge and have had to endure maltreatment and misconduct from the United Kingdoms Border Agency, similar to the treatment one might expect to receive from a third world country.

We can name so many people who are in danger of being sent back to Iran and can say with certainty that as soon as they arrive in Iran they will be killed. We can name many people in similar circumstances that had been sent back to Iran and since their arrival to the Islamic Republic of Iran we have never heard from them again. At the moment Mr Omid Farhadi (TR9503) is being held in the detention centre at Dover Immigration – Removed Centre, the citadel western, Dover, Kent CT17 9DR. waiting upon a decision. Mr Farhadi is a comrade of Mr Mohammadreza Ali-Zamani and Mr Arash Rahmani-Pour who have both been hanged recently. We believe that if Mr Farhadi is sent back he will definitely be killed.

Miss Bita Ghaedi who is currently on hunger strike is also waiting in the detention centre to be sent back. Mr Arsalan Sasani-poor has also been refused the right to stay in the United Kingdom, and is waiting to be sent back to Iran. Mr Arsalan Sasasni-poor used to work as Security Agent for the National Iranian Oil Company. Despite telling the Boarder Agency that, though he personally had a good life within the regime, he left Iran and since his arrival to this country he has been actively involved against the regime. But he too has been refused refugee status and is waiting to be sent back to Iran.

The following people, who are bringing this letter to The Right Honourable Gordon Brown the Prime Minster, have similar circumstances to those mentioned above and also have their stories to tell. But most importantly, if they are sent back they will most certainly be killed by Islamic regime in Iran.

Mr Bahman Afshar

Mr Arteh Radmehr

Mr Vahab Souriyan Rehanhi

Miss Mahdieh Teimoori

Mr Amir-Hesam Khakpour

There are many other Iranians are in a similar situation and to write all of their names would not be appropriate. But we strongly urge the Home Office officials to consider that the Islamic government holds an extremely poor record in terms of its Human Rights. It is very clear that this situation will only continue, especially under the current president Mr Ahmadinejad. In recent months there have been many people arrested, raped, tortured, and killed in cities across the country.

We hope to maintain the good relations between the Iranian and British people, and ensure the future friendship between our two nations. The Home Office officials have to be more tolerant in terms of deciding the fate of such Iranian cases.

Respectfully Yours,

Mardavij Ziari (Mr)

Association of Wisdom and Traditions of Iran
